RAF UPPER HEYFORD COLD WAR AIRBASE PHOTOGRAPHY DAY 17 SEPTEMBER 2023

RAF Upper Heyford will be welcoming back Cold War Living History re-enactment group Lazy Company and a range of Cold War vehicles for a photography day.

Provisional schedule for the day includes:
Display of military vehicles at The Heyford hotel
RAF Upper Heyford history film (optional)
Set piece at the Avionics Maintenance Building (used by USAF for Wargame training exercises) and Defensive Fire Post (Pillbox)
Victor Alert (QRA) area, including internal access to HAS 9
Entry Control Point at the Weapons Storage Area (nuclear bomb store)
Whiskey-13 observation tower
Military vehicles on the main runway
Set piece at the Battle Command Post (including internal access)

Guides will be available to answer questions but there will be no formal guided tours.
